Research
The Faculty of Exact Sciences at UAV Arad stands out through a range of modern research topics with a concrete academic impact and visible international presence. Faculty members carry out their activities within the "Mathematical Models and Computer Systems" Research Centre and specialize in two fields: mathematics and computer science, respectively. The emphasis is on understanding, developing, and applying mathematical models to optimize computer systems (as well as related technologies), while additionally creating and maintaining a dynamic and stimulating environment for research.
Seven research directions have crystallized over the course of the research centre's existence: Artificial intelligence / neural networks, Fuzzy systems, Cryptography and Cybersecurity, Network reliability, Dynamical systems, control and stability, Functional analysis and operator theory, and Mathematical models in particle physics. Several research topics represent an expression of excellence through the prestige of their publications as well as international recognition.
International mobility, collaborations with research centres, and participation in conferences in France, Australia, and within European programmes bring continuous visibility and resources to the research centre and its members.
Teaching activities align with active research: students are integrated into these themes, developing advanced STEM projects presented in academic contexts. The StudMath-IT conferences and the Caius Iacob competition consolidate the scientific community at both local and regional levels, promoting excellence and cooperation.
